The Thinkubator was born out of a pilot partnership between HERE to HERE, The Bronx Borough President’s Office, The Bronx Overall Economic Development Corporation and a group of 20 Bronx-based employers who were committed to youth talent development and created The Bronx Private Industry Council (PIC).
The PIC was an employer-led alliance that worked to transforms how businesses, schools, and community organizations develop talent pipelines in the Bronx. The Bronx PIC connected Bronx employers with the talent they needed to achieve their long-term business goals, created internships and work-based learning opportunities for Bronx students, and helped to build a bright economic future for the borough. The Bronx PIC was committed to supporting the evolving needs of Bronx businesses and partnering to prepare Bronx students to generate inclusive economic growth across the borough.
Due to the economic climate The Bronx PIC disbanded in Summer of 2020 and The Thinkubator was created to replicate the goals of The Bronx PIC while flipping the model to be a youth-led, business focused organization transforming talent pipelines in the Bronx and New York City. Thanks to a generous gift, support, and partnership from the James and Judith K. Dimon Foundation, HERE to HERE, and DreamYard, The Thinkubator has become a reality in 2020.
